Dr. David Wright

Partner

Dr. David W. Wright, Ed.D. is the Headmaster of Subiaco Academy.

David came to Arkansas in 2018 from Gettysburg College, a Top 50 Liberal Arts College in Pennsylvania. David and his wife Cindy are the parents of three grown daughters (and a German Shepherd). They are especially excited about the monastic presence at Subiaco and have thoroughly enjoyed becoming Benedictine, in every sense of the term.

David has served as a teacher, coach, administrator, and athletic director and is strongly supportive of the role of co-curricular activities, whether academic, athletic, or social, in the development of young people into adults who can truly and confidently participate in a vast horizon and make a difference in the world. Under his leadership, Gettysburg College built award-winning facilities, won numerous conference titles in various sports, and three NCAA National Championships in women’s lacrosse.

In his acceptance letter, David expressed that this opportunity to serve as Subiaco’s Headmaster is a “calling”, and the opportunity of a lifetime to help young men rise to leadership in whatever field of endeavor they choose. Under his direction, Subiaco Academy has embarked on a first-of-a-kind parallel curriculum for character development of the students who attend the institution.

St. Joesph

Patron Saint

Saint Joseph is a key figure in Christianity and is known as the earthly father of Jesus Christ and the husband of the Virgin Mary.

The historical accounts of Joseph's life have mostly been blurred and one of the four gospels has no mention of his life at all. He was mentioned in the gospels of Matthew, John, and Luke, and these are the only sources of information about his life.

Joseph was said to be a descendent of King David. He and Mary were wed following the immaculate conception of our Lord. He came to know about her pregnancy and planned to divorce her quietly, however, an angel from heaven told him about her being the future mother of the son of God.

Beginning his career as carpenter, Joseph gained considerable notoriety (and sainthood) fulfilling his vocation of father and husband.

Joseph currently is the patron saint of over 46 job categories, 16 countries and 86 cities. Always on the go, Joseph's hobbies include terrorizing demons and helping people sell real estate.
